Where are you from?

It seems that wherever I go now, I’m a foreigner: I’m too emotional to be English; too reserved to be Spanish; too eccentric to be American.  So when people ask where I’m from, the answer depends on several things — including which side of the Atlantic I’m on!

So, here’s a quick breakdown:

Born: London
Raised: Southern Spain
K-12 School: London, Hampshire (UK), New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Assisi (Italy), Marbella (Spain)
University: London
Accent: English (specifically, that BBC World Service standard, RP)
Nationality: British and American

Where have you lived as an adult?

As an adult I have lived in London, Madrid, Paris, New York, and now San Diego.

How do you describe where you’re from?

If I’m feeling playful, I rather like the tongue-in-cheek ‘Eurotrash’ even though it tends to confuse my fellow Americans: their protests tell me the joke a little too dry, the humour a little too unfamiliar. Legally, I’m British-American, because I am a citizen of both countries. But I kind of like “Spanish Brit in San Diego”!

I like your accent!

Thank you, I like yours!

I still have a question!

Have I missed anything? Email me your question or leave it in the comments section below, and I’ll add it here.

The site looks fabulous Lauren! The layout is attractive yet easy to "wear", just like your lovely jewellery. Bless you my gorgeous daughter! Much love, PAXXX
